Mission
The Standish Sportsman’s Association is dedicated to the advancement of good sportsmanship and to the traditions of hunting and fishing, the preservation of open spaces and the protection of our environment.
History
The Standish Sportsman’s Association was founded in 1973 by three sportsman who were interested in the conservation of natural resources, including all game and fish, both fresh and saltwater.
In 1978, the Association purchased a 100 acre parcel of land at One Burr Lane, East Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Construction of the club house commenced in 1979 by volunteers with materials donated by Association members. The club house contains a meeting space with an iconic wood burning stone fireplace, a modern kitchen, an indoor pistol range, and an indoor archery range. Multiple outdoor facilities were also constructed, including a pistol range, a rifle range, a trap field, a skeet field, an archery range, a 3D archery course, and a large covered pavilion for events, as well as storage facilities for equipment and supplies.
