The Standish Sportsman’s Association hosts a number of activities throughout the year, as well as provides educational opportunities for youth, and appreciation for the East Bridgewater community. Many of these programs are open to both members of the Standish Sportsman’s Association, as well as the public.

3D Archery

The Standish Sportsman’s Association hosts 3D archery tournaments throughout the year. Learn more

The Standish Sportsman’s Association is a proud member of the Tri-County 3D Archery League. The League hosts a weekly archery tournament on Sundays from January thru September across a dozen sportsmen clubs on the south shore. The Standish Sportsman’s Association hosts three to four of these tournaments per year. The 3D target course consists of 30 small and large game animals set up outdoors across our parcel of 100 acres.

The 3D Archery Tournaments are open to the public, and do not require you to possess a membership in the Standish Sportsman’s Association.

Adult Archery League

The Standish Sportsman’s Association hosts archery competitions. Learn more

The Adult Archery League meets on Tuesday nights at 7pm at the indoor archery range. Paper targets are available for sale at the club house.

College Sponsorship

The Standish Sportsman’s Association donates one college sponsorship annually. Learn more

Students that reside in East Bridgewater, MA are eligible to apply for the Standish Sportsman’s Association annual college sponsorship. The student must be pursuing a career in conservation. Applicants must submit a letter to the dean’s office at East Bridgewater Junior/Senior High School, Southeastern Regional Vocational-Technical High School, or any private high school that the student attends. The letter must be received by the dean on or before April 15th of the student’s senior year of high school to be considered in said calendar year.

Cowboy Action Shooting

The Standish Sportsman’s Association hosts competitions with Old Western firearms: single action revolvers, lever action rifles, and shotguns. Learn more

Cowboy Action Shooting is open to the public, and does not require you to possess a membership in the Standish Sportsman’s Association.

Participants and spectators meet at the rifle range on the third Saturday of the month. The cost for Participants is $5 for Standish members and $7 for non-members.

Set up starts at 9AM and the matches run from 10AM to 2PM.

Pistol League

The Standish Sportsman’s Association hosts competitions with 22 caliber pistols. Learn more

The Pistol League meets on Monday nights at 7PM at the indoor pistol range. Paper targets are available for sale at the club house.

Senior Citizen Dinner

All seniors of East Bridgewater are invited to our annual dinner in August. Learn more

The Standish Sportsman’s Association hosts an annual dinner in August for the senior citizens of East Bridgewater, MA. The event celebrates local seniors with a welcoming, family-style atmosphere, reflecting the Association’s long-standing commitment to service and community spirit. Attendees enjoy a hearty meal and the chance to connect with friends and neighbors, making the dinner a memorable and meaningful gathering for all involved.

Skeet Shoots

The Standish Sportsman’s Association hosts Skeet Shoots. Learn more

No lead shot is allowed on the Skeet Field due to the proximity to wetlands—please bring steel/non-toxic ammunition only.

The cost to participate is $5 per round (25 clays) via cash or check for members of the Standish Sportsman’s Associations. Our members may bring guests to Skeet shoots, and the cost is $6 per round per guest. The clays are provided by the Standish Sportsman’s Association.

Sportsman Show

The Sportsman’s Show is open to the public, and does not require you to possess a membership in the Standish Sportsman’s Association.

The Standish Sportsman’s Association has hosted the Annual Southeastern Massachusetts Sportsman’s Show for over 45 years. You’ll find hundreds of vendors with amazing pricing on new and used firearms, hunting equipment, fishing gear, taxidermy, archery equipment, apparel, and even boats. There will be raffles for firearms, a full kitchen serving breakfast and lunch, as well as entertainment. This two day event occurs in March. The admission cost is $12 per adult and children under 15 years old are free.

Hint: Ask a member of the Standish Sportsman’s Association for a coupon to reduce the cost of your admission.

Sunday Breakfast

The Standish Sportsman’s Association serves breakfast on Sunday morning between 8am and 10am. Sit by the warm fireplace and enjoy hearty breakfast classics made to order, from eggs your way, to omelets, pancakes, french toast, fried potatoes, breakfast sandwiches, coffee and juice. You won’t find a better breakfast value anywhere on the South Shore!

Trap Shoots

Trap Shoots are open to the public, and do not require you to possess a membership in the Standish Sportsman’s Association. The cost to participate is $5 per round (25 clays) via cash or check. The clays are provided by the Standish Sportsman’s Association.

There are several holiday-themed trap shoots throughout the year with prizes awarded (gift cards for local restaurants, gas stations, etc.) to winners.

Work Parties

Our members volunteer monthly to maintain our outstanding facilities for future generations. Learn more

Members of the Standish Sportsman’s Association gather at the club house on the first Saturday of each month to assist with various projects such as groundskeeping, construction, processing firewood, and repairing or upgrading equipment. While participation is not a requirement of any member, it is very much appreciated when you are able to do so. The facilities at the Standish Sportsman’s Association were originally built by volunteers, and we honor those before us by continuing the tradition of volunteer work to maintain outstanding facilities for future generations. Both skilled tradespersons as well as non-skilled volunteers are always welcome at our Work Parties.

Youth Archery Program

The Youth Archery Program is open to the public, and does not require you to possess a membership in the Standish Sportsman’s Association.

Your children (ages 8-17) are welcome to join the supervised archery program, taking place weekly during the East Bridgewater school year at our indoor archery range.

Standish Sportsman’s Association members teach archery safety and marksmanship. All compound bows (Genesis, the official bow of the National Archery in the Schools Program), arrows, and targets are provided by the Standish Sportsman’s Association.

If you are interested in enrolling your child, please come visit the club house during any one of the scheduled Youth Archery Program events. The cost to participate is $2 per child per week via cash or check.

A parent or legal guardian is required to apply and your child will be able to participate on your first visit.

Massachusetts Junior Conservation Camp

Youth Conservation Camp

The Standish Sportsman’s Association donates tuition for two children (ages 13-17) to attend the Massachusetts Junior Conservation Camp annually. Learn more

Students that reside in East Bridgewater, MA are eligible to apply for the Standish Sportsman’s Association annual Massachusetts Junior Conservation Camp sponsorship. This summer camp is a two week, overnight stay program operated by the State of Massachusetts in August each year. The camp teaches children outdoor and conservation skills, including spin and fly fishing, forestry, wildlife management, riflery and shotgun skills, archery, firearm safety, CPR/first aid, and hunting, led by experts in these fields. The tuition (>$1,100) covers your child’s lodging expenses, as well as all food and activities. If your child is interested, please download the application, and send it via postal mail to Standish Sportsman’s Association Conservation Camp Sponsorship, P.O. Box 258, East Bridgewater, MA 02333 by April 15th to be considered in said calendar year.

Youth Fishing Derby

Children (ages 14 and under) are welcome to participate in our annual fishing derby. Learn more

The Youth Fishing Derby is open to the public, and does not require you to possess a membership in the Standish Sportsman’s Association.

Your children (ages 14 and under) are welcome to join the Youth Fishing Derby, taking place annually on the first Saturday in June at Burrage Pond in Hanson, MA. Fishing rods, bait, donuts, juice and coffee are provided by the Standish Sportsman’s Association. No fishing license is required. Trophies and prizes are awarded.

Any youth without a fishing rod may keep the one provided by the Standish Sportsman’s Association at the conclusion of the Youth Fishing Derby.

If you are interested in your child participating, please come to Burrage Pond on the day of the tournament. The entrance is located on Elm Street, and signage will be visible on said road for the Youth Fishing Derby.

There is no cost to participate in the Youth Fishing Derby.

Youth Rifle Program

The Youth Rifle Program is open to the public, and does not require you to possess a membership in the Standish Sportsman’s Association.

Your children (ages 8-17) are welcome to join the supervised marksmanship program, taking place weekly during the East Bridgewater school year at our indoor pistol range.

NRA certified range safety officers and Standish Sportsman’s Association members teach firearm safety, cleaning, maintenance, and marksmanship. All firearms (.22 caliber single shot bolt action rifles), ammunition (25 rounds), targets, safety glasses and hearing protection are provided by the Standish Sportsman’s Association.

If you are interested in enrolling your child, please come visit the club house during any one of the scheduled Youth Rifle Program events.  The cost to participate is $5 per child per week via cash or check.

A parent or legal guardian is required to apply and your child will be able to participate on your first visit.
